The Perfumer

This is the story of the perfumer behind Prung Flower Water —
Khun Fon Thachanun Akrawichien

Though she humbly says her work is not yet widely known, the truth is: her creations have quietly flourished.

Prung Flower Water has become a beloved name through pure word of mouth, shared by tens of thousands of customers who fell in love with her scents.

“I have an academic background in classical piano performance and also hold a Master’s degree in Mathematics from the UK.

During my time in the UK, I studied perfumery with the Fragrance Foundation, and one day,

I decided to visit Grasse —

and stayed for a long-term course in fragrance formulation there.”

It was the intensive training at the Grasse that deepened her understanding of the olfactory world — from the language of flowers to the science of molecules that form the invisible architecture of every scent.

Over the years, her nose became more refined, and through countless exchanges with fellow perfumers, her perspective grew into something deeply personal — and beautifully complex.

She smiles as she recalls how it began.

Khun Fon is not only a trained perfumer, but also a professional concert pianist and a mathematician by degree. While studying in the UK,

She pursued formal perfumery training in both London and Grasse, France.

She spent a full year immersed in the study of scent formulation — and to this day, she continues to travel abroad to attend advanced courses, keeping herself attuned to new raw materials, extraction techniques, and international sourcing of the world’s finest naturals.

“Have you ever noticed how music and perfume are so deeply connected?

Perfumes have notes, just like music. They form chords, just like music.
And they evolve in stages — top, middle, base — just like a melody unfolds through verse, bridge, and chorus.

Music touches us through sound. Perfume does the same, through scent.”

As a classically trained pianist, she often begins the creation of a fragrance by composing it like a piece of music —
thinking in terms of tension, harmony, and release.

She selects each note carefully, building accords the way a composer might choose the right harmony.

Then comes the logic. The balance. The chemistry. And this is where her background in mathematics becomes a silent but powerful tool — helping her translate emotion into measurable formulation.

“I see myself as a craftsman.
That means I cannot ignore the artisanal discipline that perfumery demands.

I write formulas the way musicians write scores —
with a structure that is reproducible, yet expressive.

My approach is both mathematical and artistic.”

Khun Fon’s creations are known for their natural elegance —
often featuring ingredients from real flowers, aromatic plants, and nature’s finest materials from around the world.

Among her most beloved works is The Rose Collection, composed from rare and fresh roses across multiple continents.
Each rose scent in the collection has its own distinct identity — never repetitive, never generic — and has been widely praised by both customers and influencers alike.

Another signature line is The Raindrop on Flowers Collection,

where the perfume is crafted using real Flower Water instead of alcohol.
This gives the scent a smoother texture, making it gentler on the skin and closer to the experience of smelling a flower alive in nature.

Customers often say her perfumes feel “expensive, soft, and real” — a scent identity that is unmistakably hers.

Every perfume by Khun Fon carries her personal signature:
a softness that never shouts, a beauty that never tries too hard — but lingers, effortlessly.
